The average work experience of the students in our current program is 0-2 years. The core finance curriculum is complemented with elective courses, a research practicum, professional seminars, and an optional Master’s thesis. Through a rigorous hands-on curriculum, students have the chance to build a deep reservoir of finance knowledge and immediately put that knowledge to work in the world.

WHO ARE WE?

Novantas, LLC is a New York based consulting firm that provides advisory services to the financial services industry. The Firm focuses mainly on issues of revenue strategy, which we describe as “customer science”; this includes defining, building, managing and measuring revenue-generating capabilities such as segmentation, product design, pricing, distribution management, payment services, sales execution effectiveness, branding, market mix management, and customer experience—all tools in Novantas’ consulting laboratory.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Ask any consulting firm, investment bank or leading corporation what they look for in candidates and they’ll say: individuals who are extremely smart, analytical, good with people, motivated, and team players. That’s right—everyone is looking for similar characteristics. Of course they are. Who wants unmotivated, anti-social morons?

We find that the most successful candidates are natural and relentless problem solvers showing: natural leadership ability, creativity, ease with quantitative analysis, interest in working as part of small multi-disciplinary teams, desire to make an impact, and comfort in an unstructured work environment. In addition, those that excel at this firm will have a natural inclination towards a more quantitative approach.

Aspiring candidates should have the following skills and characteristics:

• High “get–it” quotient

• Quick learner – How fast are you smart?

• Problem solving obsession and tenacity

• Confidence in your work products

• Self–disciplined and intellectually productive

• Objectivity, without loss of the objective

• Social grace, self–assurance and diverse interests

• Demonstrated achievement and leadership

• Ability to pursue hypotheses without waiting for all of the data

Candidates should have exceptional analytical skills and the ability to think laterally and develop creative solutions to complex problems. They should also enjoy statistics, quantitative analysis and be familiar with spreadsheet and database analytics (experience is a plus – but not required).

WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN NOVANTAS?

Novantas is engaged by clients to solve some of the most exciting strategic problems facing executives today. Consultants enjoy an unmatched opportunity to work closely with senior partners and clients, taking a central role on project teams of 2 – 5 people at an early stage in their career.

We are a close-knit firm with an environment that is both competitive and collegial. Individuals who join Novantas look forward to the opportunity to work and play with others they meet at the Firm. Check us out on our website.

The firm is actively looking for summer interns for its Analyst Intern position; apply through Careerbridge by February 9.
